The Centre for East European Policy Studies invites to attend the discussion on Russia’s Presidential Elections, on March 6th, at 10.30 a.m., in Hotel Bergs, Glass Hall, Elizabetes Street 83/85.
The presidential election of 2018 is the fourth time that Vladimir Putin has come forward with his candidacy for the post of the president of the Russian Federation. Given the centralized power of the state and the relentless pursuit to obstruct the development of any kind of opposition, there is little doubt that V. Putin will once again become the head of the state.
The question is what changes will the re-election of V. Putin bring? Will the stability of Russia’s power be sustained by influencing the society with propaganda and disinformation? How will the economic and political stagnation influence V. Putin’s domestic politics and foreign policy? What to expect from Russia’s foreign policy regarding the European Union and specifically Latvia, after the election? We will try to gain the answers to these questions from the Russia’s political oppositioners and policy experts.
The working language will be Russian (translation in Latvian and English available).
