On January 21, Mārcis Balodis, a researcher at the Centre for East European Policy Studies, participated in a meeting of the Security and Defence Committee of the Baltic Assembly.
“The main threat to the EU’s eastern border is the aggressive foreign policy pursued by Russia and Belarus, which involves the risk of provocations and the use of various hybrid threats against the Baltic States and Poland, ” stated Balodis, speaking at the event.
During the meeting, participiants discussed the security and defence challenges in the Baltic region and such topics as the existing and future challenges in addressing the security challenges in the EU’s eastern border.
