CEEPS Is Going to Present a Book on Populism

On November 24, 11:00 am, a presentation of the book “The Rise of Populism: Lessons for the European Union and the United States of America”, issued by the Centre for East European Policy Studies (CEEPS), will be held in the Fireplace Hall of European Union House, Aspazijas Boulevard 28, Riga.

The collection of articles is a joint work of researchers from Latvia, Germany, France, Great Britain, as well as Greece and USA, providing a multifaceted study of the very core of the “populism” concept, analysing its practical expressions in several European countries and USA. The authors of the book make their contribution also to theoretical discussion of the expressions of populism in politics, economics, and what is especially timely nowadays – in the media environment.

In the conclusion of the presentation, it will be possible to ask questions to the authors of the collection of articles Ilze Balcere (Latvia), Florian Hartleb (Germany), co-editors Artis Pabriks and Andis Kudors.

The working language of the event will be English.

The book has been developed with the financial support of the European People’s Party (EPP) Group at the European Parliament and the Konrad Adenauer Foundation.
